Polansky Sweetheart Meet
Each year on the last Saturday of January, Loveland Masters hosts the annual Sweetheart Swim Meet. The meet includes: 50, 100, and 200 of each stroke, 100 and 200 individual medley, the 500 freestyle, in addition to some fun relays. The meet starts in the morning, and usually wraps-up between 12 and 1 pm. Loveland Masters prides itself on hosting a fun, and relaxing meet. Sign-ups are posted in mid-December.
On January 6, 2018, Loveland Masters Swimming founder Kevin Polansky passed away while doing what he loved best—swimming. Kevin’s long career as a swimmer, coach, and ambassador for the sport of swimming will be missed. To memorialize his contributions, in 2019 Loveland Masters renamed the annual Sweetheart Meet, to the Polansky Sweetheart Meet.
In 2022, Loveland Masters established the Kevin Polansky Bobblehead trophy for the team that earns the most points at the meet.
